A more precise, less irritating and lasting hair removal experience

What is "Threading?"

Origins of Threading: an ancient method of hair removal with originated in Arabia and South Asia. Called khite in Arabic and fatlah in Egyptian, it's a less common method in the West for removing hair. Threading is an age-old form of hair removal also practiced in such countries as India, Pakistan and the Middle East; this is mainly used to shape to the eyebrows and in removing unwanted hair from the upper lip and areas of the face. Threading hair is so basic to women in the Middle East and India that it can be compared to girls learning to braid each other's hair as children.
How it works:it is very delicate procedure, making it suitable for even the most sensitive skin. During this method a piece of 100% cotton thread is used. It is twisted and pulled along the area of unwanted hair, which lift the hair out directly from the follicle. The twisting action of the thread traps the hair and lifts it out from the follicle. The pain during Threading is no worse than that during tweezing or waxing. A small pinch is felt with the removal of hair, which many clients find minimal due to the large coverage area treated at one time.

Advantages to the client: with Threading there are no horrible side effects like irritation and rashes caused by the "stripping off" of the top layer of dead skin, which accompanies waxing. Waxing pulls the skin and over time waxing causes the skin to loosen and develop premature wrinkles. The benefits of Threading are that it completely removes the hair from the follicle. Threading is more effective and less painful than tweezing; hair re-growth becomes finer and sparser after regular treatments and the top layers of skin are not peeled or traumatized in the process. The thread merely glides on the skin and does not cause friction on it. Threading is recommended as an excellent option for those who use Retin-A, Accutane, and similar products as they make the skin delicate. Again the thread can merely glides on the skin and does not cause friction on it.

Advantages to the Threadist:
therapists are now using this form of depilation over waxing for various reasons other then the fact that the resulting finish is very neat and second to none.

For treating a small area like parts of the face, it is more economical to thread as it saves heating time that waxing normally requires; there is no setting up time involved; a couch is not necessary, a reclining chair is sufficient therefore freeing up treatment rooms for other treatments;

It takes approximately 10-15 mins to thread the perfect eyebrows and 2mins for an upper lip. The results are extremely clean and neat because the hairs do not have to be of a minimal length in order to be threaded. A well trained Threadist will be able to thread hairs that are just a fraction of a millimetre in length.
